Congratulations to Dr Zipporah Ali, Executive Director of Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Association (KEHPCA), on being awarded the 2018 Women4Africa Humanitarian Award.
Dr Ali is a palliative care doctor, and this award comes as well-deserved recognition of her leadership in advocating for and developing palliative care in Kenya. She has been instrumental in building strong relationships with the Kenyan Ministry of Health to work towards the integration of palliative care into government hospitals and medical training curricula. Dr Ali’s work in advocacy and creating awareness of palliative care has resulted in significant improvements in palliative care provision for children and adults with life-threatening illnesses in Kenya.
